What is OpenWifi

Openwifi is a wireless ethernet (commonly known as WIFI) service utilizing user based authentication system to deliver internet data service to target clients in a certain area. Unlike common WIFI service utilizing usual authentication methods (such as WEP/WPA), OpenWifi suffers less threats from traffic bottlenecks due to unauthorized user access from leaked passwords. Openwifi has the ability to deliver user based bandwidth setting ensuring a better surfing experience to the users. Unlike other wireless data service, it has no data usage cap limitations and has longer account expiration (6 months).

Openwifi is a collaborative effort of different hotspot providers to provide accessible hotspot service to public areas such as schools, malls, ports, hospitals, parks, markets, and other public places. An openwifi hotspot may provide both  free or pay per user account depending on the hotspot operator. Anyone who is interested of the OpenWifi objective can be part of the operators community.
